Untitled +Love Hurts + Prosecuted

no. 86 Love Hurts So Good

no. 87 Prosecuted

no. 85 Untitled (no words)

Three of my latest collage Cards, fresh off the cutting mat. For these I used crayons to make them pop a bit more. Overall these came out looking grungy as opposed to kitchy and may be some of the darker ones I've done. Look for them, starting next week, at Park Slope's Urban Alchemist. You'll have to excuse the quality of the images. They are mere iPhone photos.

Origami Trees as Ornament + Greeting card combo

This piece bends the traditional rules of origami.

Scissors are involved to create the slits that then fold to eventually give the tree its shape. It's
for intermediate to advanced learners. I made 50 incomplete pieces while vending at the Hester Street Fair a few weeks ago. The final will look close to the last image, just working out some aesthetic kinks (for example, I think I'll go with red card stock as opposed to natural...dunno. Still debating). This and a variety of stand-alone origami ornaments, will be introduced when In Stitches appears at Crafts In Chelsea.

Crafts In Chelsea

In Stitches will be at Crafts In Chelsea, with Xmas origami cards, Photo Calendars, the usual pinup cards and coasters, leather Moleskine®s and all occasion note cards.

The {NewNew} partners with PS 11 to bring you CRAFTS IN CHELSEA III on Saturday, October 16 from 9-5pm. This event is held on 21st street between 8th and 9th avenue and will occur rain or shine.

This event spotlights over 100 of the best local New York artists and craftspeople vending their own unique jewelry, pottery, clothing, fine art and other handmade goods. Visitors to the fair will enjoy the opportunity to converse with artists about their creative processes while shopping for one of a kind items.

This event is run in conjunction with PS 11's annual FALL FESTIVAL – an indoor event that includes food, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, games and a petting zoo for New York City children. Last year this event drew record crowds and helped to fund arts programs for the students of PS 11.
